Sylvia is a senior associate in our toxic tort group who assists in the defense of our clients in New York and New Jersey. Ms. Chandler plays an intricate role in the defense of the firm’s asbestos clients. These aspects include aggressively taking and defending depositions, motion practice, court conferences and trial preparation. Ms. Chandler has had past experience in various areas of law, including but not limited to general liability matters, product liability, environmental law, real estate, construction defect, automobile defense, personal injury litigation and municipal court and family law matters.
After law school, Ms. Chandler served as a law clerk to the then Presiding Criminal Judge Edward M. Coleman in the Superior Court of Somerset County, New Jersey. Additionally, she had the honor and distinction in serving the then Presiding Civil Judge Harriet E. Derman in the Superior Court of Somerset County, New Jersey in the same year as her criminal law clerkship. During her criminal clerkship, she had the opportunity to work on the motions dealing with the re-trial of the Jason Williams case.
